Hello to my regular blog followers and Z Publishing followers alike! In this blog post, you'll get to know Z Publishing: who they are, what they do, and why they're publishing emerging writers in anthologies. Z Publishing began as a blog on Facebook, and once they gained enough traction, they became a publishing press that specializes in uplifting young, vibrant writers and giving them the resources to build an audience. Likewise, they offer readers the opportunity to find these budding writers in beautifully crafted anthologies that feature the best and the brightest. In addition to their popular Emerging Writers anthologies, they also offer classics published before 1923 on their website as free, accessible eBook downloads, and themed anthologies that feature new and established writers. Z Publishing is all about fostering a community of readers and writers who support and celebrate each other. As a publishing industry hopeful and a young, emerging writer, Z Publishing’s mission of fostering a welcoming community for readers and writers alike really appeals to me. In the video on their About page, they acknowledge the frustrating Catch-22 of publishing: to be published, you already have to be published and have a following. Z Publishing works to eliminate that problem by actively seeking out promising emerging writers and giving them a platform to share their work. I discovered Z Publishing when they discovered me. They found my published poetry in The Tunnels, Northern Arizona University’s undergraduate literary magazine, and asked me to submit to the Arizona Emerging Poets anthology, where I now have two poems published. As I’ve begun interacting with Z Publishing's published writers on social media and reaching out to see what kind of creative work they’ve been producing, I’ve been so inspired. So far, I’ve seen poets publishing their first collections, writers selling their independent novels on Amazon, and gorgeous projects by writers who also work with clay, snap photos, shoot film, and play the guitar. The folks at Z Publishing work hard to share the work of these young writers via their Twitter, Facebook, and other upcoming social media platforms. Young artists are dynamic and ever-changing, willing to experiment and break the mold as they try to find their own voices. These writers are the heart of Z Publishing. Want to connect on Twitter?
